Italy, Iran Ink MoU to Turn Gas Flare Into Electricity


TEHRAN (Dispatches) - National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) subsidiary companies and Italy's Ansaldo Energia firm have signed MoU to turn gas flare into electricity.
The MoU was sealed between the Italian firm, National Iranian South Oil Company, Pars Oil & Gas Company (P.O.G.C), Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) and Iran Fuel Conservation Company, Iran petroleum ministry reported.

The MoU aims to collect the gas flare in South Pars oil field phase 12 to produce electricity and also to renovate oil and gas installations.

Ansaldo Energia is a producer of thermoelectric power plants, operating in international markets. Ansaldo Energia covers the entire power generation spectrum with a combination of plant engineering, manufacturing and service activities.

The Italian company, in its first phase, will produce 600 MW electricity and in the second phase about 1,000 MW electricity will be produced.
