The opening night of the 2024 WNBA regular season is May 14 for eight of the league's 12 teams. WNBA Finals runners-up New York Liberty tip off the league's 28th season at the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m. ET.

No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark is also due to debut on opening night as the Indiana Fever visit the Connecticut Sun at 7:30 p.m. ET. Two more games then tip at 10 p.m. ET as the two-time reigning champion Las Vegas Aces host the Phoenix Mercury while the new-look Seattle Storm play the Minnesota Lynx.

May 15 features two further games. The Chicago Sky are at the Dallas Wings (8 p.m. ET), and the Los Angeles Sparks host the Atlanta Dream (10 p.m. ET).

The mid-May start is five days earlier than last year, as this season will feature a mid-season break for the Olympics in Paris. But despite the almost month-long pause in regular-season play after July 17 until Aug. 15, all teams are scheduled to play 40 games again for the second straight season following the four-game expansion last year.

On top of that, teams will play between one and two preseason games. The Sun, the Wings and the Aces are the only teams that will not play multiple times before the regular season starts.

Las Vegas is not playing any WNBA teams and instead has a game scheduled against the Puerto Rico national team at Colonial Life Arena. It will be a homecoming game for A'ja Wilson, who has a statue outside the arena in honor of her time at South Carolina playing for the Gamecocks. 2022 national champion Brea Beal could also return to Columbia after signing a training camp contract with the Aces.
