AFF Suzuki Cup: Tickets for first leg sold out

All tickets for the first leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup between Malaysia and Vietnam this Tuesday have been sold out.

On its Facebook page, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) stated that the ticket counters at Gate A and Gate E of the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, which opened at 9.53am, were closed after all tickets were sold.

FAM thanked Harimau Malaya fans for their support and apologised to those who failed to get the tickets, adding that the National Stadium could only accommodate 80,000 people.

“It is hoped that supporters who are still at the compound of the National Stadium could disperse as the tickets have all been sold,” it said.

Of the 80,000 tickets, 40,000 were sold online on Friday, and sold out by yesterday.

Earlier, fans intending to buy tickets for the first leg of the final were advised to just forget about it by FAM secretary-general Stuart Michael Ramalingam.

Operation hours extended

The Sri Petaling/Ampang Line LRT, Kelana Jaya Line LRT and Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line MRT services will be extended until 1am on Dec 12 for the match.

According to Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (PNB) today, the Bukit Jalil LRT station will be open until 1am to allow passengers to enter the station and continue their journey to other LRT and MRT stations.

"Although other stations will be closed, passengers can still alight at the respective stations, and switch to the Kelana Jaya LRT and Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT lines at the Masjid Jamek, Plaza Rakyat, Pasar Seni and Maluri stations," the PNB statement read.

Commuters are also encouraged to use the 'park n ride' facilities available at select MRT and LRT stations, such as Putra Heights, Muhibbah, Awan Besar, Kinrara BK5, IOI Puchong Jaya, Pusat Bandar Puchong, Taman Perindustrian Puchong, and Bandar Tasik Selatan Multilevel Parking Complex.

Malaysia drew 2-2 with Thailand at the semi-finals, but qualified for the final on away goals.

Vietnam booked a ticket for the final after recording a 4-2 aggregate win over the Philippines.
